This Wasn’t Supposed to Be a Thing
Last year was a hard one.
I lost my mom in August, and just two weeks later my daughter left for college. Both were moments I knew were coming — but knowing doesn’t make them easier. It was a season of big change, quiet grief, and learning how to move forward without the people I was used to leaning on.
As winter rolled in, everything felt heavier. February especially — cold, grey, and long. I found myself feeling restless and unhappy, and I finally admitted I needed a little extra support. Getting help made a difference, and slowly, things began to feel more manageable again.
Around that same time, I pulled out some old paints and canvases and started painting at my kitchen table in the evenings.
No plan. No pressure. No expectations.
Just paint.
What surprised me most wasn’t the finished paintings — it was how calm I felt while creating. I didn’t care how things turned out. I loved blending colors, trying ideas, and letting myself just be for a while. Painting became a small, steady way to slow my mind and breathe again.
These days, my kitchen table is often covered with canvases, paint, and a little creative chaos — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

That quiet, no-pressure creativity wasn’t supposed to turn into anything more… but it planted a seed. I started wondering what it might look like to share this feeling with other women — especially those who are busy, tired, and craving a simple creative break.
So I’m slowly working on something new. Cozy, approachable paint kits made for real life — no planning, no stress, no perfection required.
This is fun art, not fine art.
And yes… cowgirl hats will be part of it too. 😉

I’m excited to see where this leads, and I’m grateful you’re here for the journey.
Happy, healthy trails,
Lisa
