Homemade Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Every year my family loves when I make my homemade cranberry sauce. I thought it would be fun to share my homemade cranberry sauce with you all, after all it was the inspiration behind our Cranberry Spice Candle.
Ingredients for Homemade Cranberry Sauce
1 – 1lb bag of fresh cranberries
2 oranges, you will need the fruit and some zest
½ cup water
¾ cup of sugar
¼ cup of brown sugar
3 whole cloves
1 or 2 cinnamon sticks, you know the brown dried kind
Take approximately 1 tablespoon of orange zest from the orange then chop up the inside fruit into small bits.
Add the cranberries and all ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Slowly cook for 3 to 4 hours, you will need to stir occasionally. Place in refrigerator and chill before serving.
Here is a fun idea, if you are a guest and bringing cranberry sauce, why not make a little extra, put it in a cute little jar, tie a string around it and bring it as a hostess gift. Hopefully your hostess will have left overs the next day and who doesn't want a little cranberry sauce with their turkey.
Let me know what you think of our recipe or maybe you have one you would like to share, leave a comment and let me know.
Until next time, happy, healthy trails!
The recipe sounds wonderful! I missed Thanksgiving but will be making this soon!
